I have suffered with excess stomach acid, acid reflux for as long as I can remember initially using rennie, mints, alka-Seltzer, bicarbonate of soda and numerous other things to try and control it. I finally got prescribed Omeprazole which really was the wonder cure but due to more recent side effects being reported I have been trying to halve my dosage as suggested by my doctor. My main concerns with reducing my dosage would of course be the return of the suffering from the acid but also the destruction excess acid can cause so these are ideal for me, I have tried to reduce my dosage before but it became unbearable and returned to the full dose. I halved the dosage of Omeprazole and started taking one of these a day and have still been acid reflux free for nearly two weeks, before when I reduced the dosage it became unbearable after only three days. I am not sure if these are helping to neutralise the acid as an added effect or the reduced concern over access acid destroying my healthy bacteria levels means I am not producing as much as anxiety can be a trigger it but the result is exactly what I wanted and needed. Overall really great product replacing the healthy bacteria acid can destroy and for me they have really helped me cut down on my medication and for these reasons they get top marks from me.

Solgar have always been my go-to brand for any vitamins, minerals and supplements, I used to work in a Health Food Store and they were always excellent. We take these as they are great of replacing the good 'friendly' bacteria in the digestive system, especially when you are taking antibiotics, and to treat thrush caused by steroid tablets (always check all this with your doctor of course). One thing is that I couldn't see the full ingredient list, and has we have allergies, I needed to know if they had any traces of nuts or seeds in them, and my question I posted wasn't answered, so I bought them and took photos of all sides of the bottle to help others to see exactly what is in them.

I am a big fan of probiotics and watched a program recently explaining the importance of good gut bacteria. I wanted to give these a shot as I've tried different brands before (not Solgar) and tended to get too bloated to continue use, and these have been a bit easier on my stomach. I can't say I feel any obvious benefits after two weeks of taking them but will update my review after a few months. You can take up to two a day but I'm taking one just to minimise the bloating side effects you experience when you first take these. I'm not over 40 but maybe this is why they're easier on my stomach as they're easier to digest. That aren't badly priced for what they are and I don't eat any dairy so I'm hoping this will help me feel generally better in the long run. Your gut is your second brain and you need to look after it!

these are really good , wont buy anything else now , tried lots of different ones but these are by far the best , try them for your self , and they dont cost the earth .

I'm glad to have found these lower dose probiotics. At the moment I'm taking one a day on an empty stomach half an hour before breakfast. This works well for me in preventing acid reflux. Now I'm used to them and have experience no negative effects, I'm considering increasing the dose by having another capsule before my evening meal, too. The capsules are quite large, but the swallowing trick that works for me is to put the capsule on the tip of my tongue and then put some water in my mouth and swig down the capsule while turning my head sideways to open my throat better. This is how I swallow all capsules and pills. Before that, my gag reflexes kicked in as I have a narrow throat, and things would get lodged so I felt near to choking. I will add the disclaimer that I can't guarantee my way of swallowing pills will work for everybody!
